Which food holidays did you celebrate last week? I'm happy to report that I did eat all my veggies on 17 June! The last full week of June entices us with sever and the kicks off with sweet options:
June 22: National Chocolate Éclair Day AND National Onion Rings Day
June 23: National Pecan Sandy Day
June 24: National Pralines Day
June 25: National Catfish Day AND National Strawberry Parfait Day
June 26: National Chocolate Pudding Day
June 27: National Indian Pudding Day AND National Orange Blossom Day
June 28: National Ceviche Day AND National Tapioca Day
Orange blossom is the flower of the orange tree. It is used in perfume making; orange blossom petals are also used to make orange blossom water. It most commonly known for use in French and Middle Eastern cuisines. Wikipedia reports that in the United States orange blossom is used to make marshmallows and orange blossom scones. I have used orange blossom water when making hibiscus tea, tamarind tea and when when making dishes where I want to enhance the orange flavor subtly in a dish. The scent of orange blossom water is relaxing to me.
Do you use orange blossom water? How have you used it? Please share your comments below.
For those in the Northern Hemisphere, Happy Summer! For those in the Southern Hemisphere, Happy Winter! Have a great week!
Be well,
Technicolor girl
