Bonus post: Food holidays for the week of September 1st

Welcome to September!   Below are the national food holidays for the week of September 1st:

An alternate name for Welsh rarebit is Welsh rabbit, which sounded horrifying to me as a young person.  Years later I am aware that Welsh rarebit is traditionally eaten for breakfast and is made with a savory sauced of melted cheese and other ingredients poured over slices/pieces of toasted bread.

I'm looking forward to Acorn Squash Day - it is one of my favorite fall vegetables. I've prepared it as a savory dish (with s sausage, onions, and other ingredients) as well as a a sweet dish (with butter and brown sugar).

Which national food days will you celebrate? Have a wonderful week!

Many thanks to The Nibble for the listing of Food Holidays.

Be well,

Technicolor girl
